Bio
I am a uk based solo musician who writes songs that mix hip hop, folk and electronica. I started Sephopi in 2004. In 2005 I produced a four track E.P. ‘Facebox’ that featured Jazz trumpeter Neil Martin, folk musician Steve Lewis and rapper Hombre Invisible and used samples from the films ‘All About Lily Chou Chou’ and ‘Mulholland Drive’. It also incorporated recorded sounds such as the fan on the back of an Xbox and the few inches of guitar strings between the machine heads and the first fret on the fret board. My main influences are David Lynch, Mike Patton, Buck 65 and Sage Francis. I am currently working on a six track mini album called ‘Marshmallow Fist’. For this new release I have sampled music from the film ‘Requiem For a Dream’ and the computer game ‘Fable’ whilst incorporating found sounds such as a bicycle wheel rotating and a small music box. Featured on the album is scratcher Maty Jas. Overall I attempt to blend humour with emotional openness to create music that rejects the stereotypical characteristics of hip hop such as self promotion, arrogance and ego and instead employs the lyrical delivery and use of samples that are staples of hip hop whilst using live instrumentation and programmed music.

Cherry Pond is really a fine track. I would buy that one immediately.

It's a shame no one listens to your songs here on fuzz. I like the tracks!
